“Elemental” mixed media exhibition at Fumbally Exchange, 5 Dame Lane, Dublin2 from January 20th.
“Elemental: making art together” is an eclectic and intriguing collection of artworks from the members of creative hub Fumbally Exchange.
In these dark and stormy January days, they are letting their creative light shine around the theme of the Elements – earth, air, fire and water.
“Elemental” includes painting, graphic design, photography, film and video installations and projection mapping. With this show, the storefront space on the ground floor of Fumbally Exchange building will be transformed into a beautiful and stimulating environment, and a welcome haven from the January elements.
Fumbally is home to architects, engineers, photographers, graphic designers, furniture designers, web designers, and more. Many of the members have more than one string to their bow, and this is the multifaceted creativity the exhibition celebrates. For example Anew McKnight, quality assurance agent, contributes evocative oil painting; architectural technologist Olivia Golden contributes carefully layered photographic composites. As part of accompanying soundscape, architect George Boyle reads some of her own poems, and writer/producer Yvonne Judge is showing her evocative black and white photographs of 1980s New York for the first time.
This beautifully designed collection of posters promoting ” Elements” exhibition are the works of fantastic graphic designer – Graham Thew.
